SERVING TOGETHER IN ROMANIA

Serving Together in Romania

This summer, a team of 12 members of our church traveled to Romania to partner with a local church and serve the surrounding community. Throughout the trip, our team had the opportunity to share God’s love through practical service, children’s and women’s ministry, fellowship, and encouragement alongside local believers.

One of the primary ministries during the week was a four-day Vacation Bible School for children in the community. The women on our team led the program, spending each day teaching, building relationships, and sharing meals with the children. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with local families and invest in the next generation.

Meanwhile, members of the team worked alongside local church leaders on a construction project that will have a lasting impact. Working with Pastor Samuel and several local men, they completed a roof over the church’s covered patio area. This new space will provide a gathering place for children and families, supporting the church’s ongoing ministry throughout the year. The church regularly tutors local children and provides meals for them, making this addition an important resource for the community.

The team was also blessed to participate in a special moment for the local church. During the visit, the congregation celebrated the baptism of a community member named Marian. As one of the village leaders, his decision to be baptized was particularly significant and a source of great encouragement for both the local church and our team.

In addition to children’s ministry and construction work, the team hosted a Women’s Day event. The gathering included a devotional, a craft activity, and a shared meal, while other team members provided childcare. The event offered an opportunity for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth among the women in the community.

A member of the mission team, Susan, said this about the work in Romania:

“Romania will forever hold a piece of my heart. I have been blessed to serve on several team trips to Romania with our church. On the most recent two trips, 8 and 10 years ago, we prayed over a patch of land in the village of Comsesti. We asked that God would make a way for a building to be constructed that would be used to serve the Roma people of that village. Fast forward to this year and I was overwhelmed with joy to be able to stand in that building where we served and worshipped with the people of that village!”

The trip concluded with worship together on Sunday, where Dave had the opportunity to preach and encourage the congregation. It was a fitting end to a week marked by service, partnership, and seeing God at work among His people.

As we reflect on our time in Romania, we are grateful for the relationships built, the lives touched, and the ways God worked through both our team and the local church. Thank you to everyone who prayed, supported, and followed along on this journey. We look forward to seeing how God continues to work in this community in the days ahead.

“Thank you for praying for our team and supporting this mission. Whether teaching children, serving meals, building structures, sharing the Gospel, or simply spending time with our Romanian brothers and sisters, every team member played an important role in making this trip impactful. Soli Deo Gloria!”
