Jesus reveals He is the true vine, the Father is the gardener, and we are the branches—called to remain in His love so that our lives bear lasting fruit. Our mission at Reynoldsburg Community Church flows directly from staying connected to Christ, who is the source of all life and purpose. When we abide in Him, His love shapes our mission, His power fuels our ministry, and His joy becomes our strength.
Jesus calls His followers to be salt and light—influencing the world by living faithfully and visibly for God’s kingdom. We are called and guided to shine Christ’s love in every part of our lives. We aim to be a church that reflects God’s holiness and advances His mission in our community and beyond.
Jesus commissioned His disciples on the mountain—promising His presence as they went to make disciples of all nations, teaching and baptizing in His name. We are called to disciple, equip, and expand God’s kingdom. Living into this vision is our high calling—inviting each of us to step out in faith, trust God’s guidance, and partner with Him in multiplying His work in our community and beyond.
As we live out this mission and embody these beliefs, we envision a church that in the next three years will:
God – We believe God’s very existence is community: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe and profess the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and affirmed by the Church through the ages.
The Bible – We believe the Bible (the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, the foundation for our teaching, faith, and practice, against which all other authorities must be measured. The Bible reveals all that is necessary for our salvation.
People – We believe God created every person in His image and that all people matter to Him. Therefore, everyone is welcome at Reynoldsburg Community Church, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.
Jesus Christ – We believe Jesus Christ is God’s greatest gift to the world. Through His sacrificial life, death, and resurrection, forgiveness and new life are possible for all who put their faith in Him. Embracing faith in Jesus is the only way for this restoration to happen.
The Holy Spirit – We believe the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives within believers today, transforming us through sanctifying grace and leading us into holiness as we bring our lives under the Lordship of Jesus.
The Church – We believe discipleship happens best in community. As we worship, serve, and grow together, we are called to multiply faith by equipping others and sending them out in mission.
Sacraments – We believe in the means of grace given through the sacraments:
Worship is our wholehearted response to God’s love, expressed through prayer, song, Scripture, and everyday living. It centers our lives on God and keeps us rooted in His presence and truth.
Prayer keeps us connected to the heart of God. It’s our opportunity to thank Him, seek His guidance, and lift up the needs of others. Whether in quiet reflection or gathered in community, prayer shapes us to listen and respond to God’s voice.
Spiritual growth happens when we engage with God’s Word, prayer, and community. We are always learning, being shaped more into the likeness of Jesus, and deepening our trust in Him.
Serving allows us to put our faith into action by meeting the needs of others with compassion and humility. When we serve, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, showing His love in practical ways.
God is the source of all we have, and generosity is our joyful response to His provision. By giving our time, talents, and resources, we join in God’s work of transforming lives and communities.
Sharing our faith is an invitation for others to experience the hope and love we’ve found in Jesus. Through words and actions, we point people to God’s grace and the Good News of His kingdom.

We are part of the Global Methodist Church (GMC)—a connectional denomination in the Wesleyan tradition. We believe we are stronger together, which is why we partner with other churches. Reynoldsburg Community Church is one of more than 20 congregations on the Columbus East Circuit of the Allegheny West Conference, and the GMC itself includes 22 circuits and 540+ churches.
An 18-member Church Board (serving in three-year, rotating terms) governs by setting mission, vision, policies, and goals.
Executive leadership (Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, Executive Director) align staff and ministries to the Board’s goals.
Most importantly, the laity (you) carry the ministry forward with your service inside and outside the walls of this church.
Several committees help ensure healthy and accountable leadership:
The Church Board determines the vision, mission, policies and goals within which the Executive Leadership Team (Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Executive Director) of Reynoldsburg Community Church must operate. The Board is comprised of 18 members, who each serve three years in rotating terms.
The nine-member Board of Trustees assists the Executive Director and Director of Maintenance in ensuring the building and grounds of our church are in condition to be used for the mission and ministry of our church, acts as the legal officers of the Reynoldsburg Community Church Corporation with the State of Ohio, coordinates volunteers who assist on regular repairs and maintenance, and assists with other topics related to the real property of the church as needed.
The nine-member Staff Parish Relations Committee assists the Executive Director and the Executive Pastor in providing support for the paid staff of the church, recommending employee policies to the Church Board, assisting the Executive Director and Executive Pastor with Director-level employee interviews, and assisting with other human resources functions as needed.
The Finance Committee assists the Executive Director in establishing and monitoring budgets, reviewing the churches financial records on a quarterly basis, recommending financial policy changes to the Church Board, and examining other topics related to our financial health and management as they arise. This committee also has nine members.
This nine-member committee is chaired by the Lead Pastor (in accordance with our Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline) and is responsible for nominating persons to serve in vacancies that become available annually on the Church Board, Finance, Staff-Parish, Trustees, and Nominating Committee. They work to make sure the few, elected leadership positions we have in our church are filled with persons who are deeply committed to Jesus, are supportive of our mission and success, and represent the various constituencies of our church family (age, gender, worship style, worship services, and various ministries). While the committee is chaired by the Lead Pastor, he has never voted during the nominating committee’s work.
